Welcome to PhotoBingo!

PhotoBingo is a web game that lets you have fun with annotated photos.

Photo annotation is a new trend in photo software (such as Tidepool™) that lets people add descriptive labels, or "tags", to their photos, so later everyone can figure out who's in the photo, where they are, and so on. Once tagged, photos are easier to organize and search.

PhotoBingo is only loosely related to regular Bingo. Rather than using lottery style numbers like B8 and G50, PhotoBingo cards are filled with tags pulled randomly from our ever-growing repository of annotated photos. PhotoBingo continually aggregates photos from a variety of websites such as w3photo.org and Storymill.

Instead of the usual B-I-N-G-O columns, PhotoBingo uses "who", "what", "where", and "when" columns. We divide all possible tags into these four categories. Such a "4w" approach is intuitively obvious, though sometimes it's difficult to determine what's a "when" and what's a "what". Very generally, "when" tags are anchored to specific dates & times; "where" tags are anchored to specific geographical locations; "who tags" apply to people, pets, bots, and organizations; everything else is what :)
